Submit a letter to the editor.
Letter Policy The People’s Press welcomes letters to the editor which express the writer’s opinion on timely issues of current general interest to the public, in keeping with the following guidelines:
1) Writers should endeavor to limit letters to 300 words.
2) The People’s Press reserves the right to reject or edit letters.
3) We may shorten or alter letters for brevity, clarity or to eliminate potentially libelous comment, without changing the opinion expressed by the writer.
4) Lengthy poetry and excerpts from previously published materials are generally not printed as letters to the editor.
5) The “Readers Write” column is not a forum for specific personal or business disputes.
6) To be considered for publication, all letters must be signed and include the writer’s address and daytime telephone number for the newspaper’s verification of authorship prior to publication.
7) Letters will be published daily on a first-in, first-out basis as space permits. Priority will be given to authors who have not had a submission published in the previous 30 days.
Letters should be addressed to: “Readers Write” The Owatonna People’s Press 135 W. Pearl St. Owatonna, MN 55060
or may be brought to our office during regular business hours. Letters may also be sent by e-mail to rensley@owatonna.com, jjackson@owatonna.com or news@owatonna.com.
