Mildred Halverson
1917 — 2009


OWATONNA — Mildred Halverson, 92, of Owatonna died Dec. 15, 2009, at Owatonna Commons.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna, with the Rev. Edward Mc Grath officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna. Friends may greet the family from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 512 S. El). There will be a 3:45 p.m. parish Rosary Friday at St. Joseph Church. Visitation will continue one hour before the funeral liturgy Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph Indian School in Chamberlain, S.D.
Mildred was born March 22, 1917, the daughter of Benjamin and Amelia (Matejcek) Hale in Owatonna. She attended school in Owatonna and was a member of the graduating class of 1935 at Owatonna High School. Mildred was united in Marriage to Everett Halverson at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna. She was employed at Spurgens Department Store and later worked for Gopher Sports in the bookkeeping department. She worked at Dawes Our Own hardware store until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and Senior Place. Her life interests include sewing, needle work and doing crafts, number puzzles and spending time with her family.
Mildred is survived by her son Robert (Darlene) Halverson of Red Wing; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Everett; son Terry; granddaughter Carri Ann; one brother Ivan Hale; and sister Rosemary Paukert.
Brick - Meger Funeral Home of Owatonna is assisting the family with arrangements.
