Richard W. Peterson
1922 — 2009

GENEVA — Richard Peterson, 86, of rural Geneva died Monday, Nov. 16, at the New Richland Care Center.
He was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Freeborn County the son of Anton and Mildred (Hamilton) Peterson. He attended rural Farr School and then began working on the farm with his parents. On April 19, 1944, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Anderson at the parsonage in Geneva.
He is survived by wife Myrtle of rural Geneva; three children: Gloria Karl of Kenyon, Gary Peterson of rural Ellendale, Wendy Shultz of rural Geneva; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, brother Ferris Peterson, and sister Emma Wagner.
The Funeral Service for Richard W. Peterson will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the United Methodist Church in Geneva. The Rev. Gary Liker will officiate. Burial will be in the Geneva Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Ellendale and one hour before the service at the church.
