David John Benson
1933 — 2009

BLOOMING PRAIRIE — David John Benson, 76, of rural Blooming Prairie, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009.
He was born April 3, 1933, to Reuben Erwin and Adrena Elizabeth (Hanf) Benson on the home place in Newry Township, Freeborn County, Minn. where he grew up and attended country school. He entered the Army in 1956. He married Janet Samplawski on June 15, 1968, in Stanley, Wis.
He is survived by his wife, Janet of Blooming Prairie; two sons, Wayne Benson and Daniel Benson, both of Blooming Prairie; a grandson; two brothers, Richard Benson of Blooming Prairie and Robert Benson of Owatonna; one sister, Marcella Ramsey of Blooming Prairie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Adrena Benson; daughter, Nancy Benson; brothers, Gordon and Lawrence Benson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Burial is at St. Columbanus Cemetery with flag presentation by Blooming Prairie VFW Post 878 and American Legion Post 52 escort. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
