Luverne G. Spindler
1933 — 2009

ROSEMOUNT — Luverne ‘Vern’ G. Spindler, 76, of Apple Valley, died on Oct. 30, 2009.
Luverne was born in Owatonna on July 4, 1933, to Frank W. and Irene (Warner) Spindler. He married Bernice Kubat on Oct. 20, 1956, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Claremont. He worked at Owatonna Granite Works for a number of years and moved to Rosemount in 1960 where he was a district manager for Miracle Maid cookware. He was a charter member of the Apple Valley American Legion Post 1776, where he managed the kitchen for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was very active volunteering at the Vets On the Lake resort near Ely.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice; children: Daniel (Jessye), Renee (Joe) Kulhanek, Steve (Michelle), David and Dean; grandchildren: Rachael, Dan Jr., Amber, Joseph, Kaylin, Shauntel, Heidi, Savanna, Dustin, Ashley; great grandchildren: Luke, Kylie, Riley, Wyatt, Lila, Trevyn, Kyiren,and Xavier; siblings: Eugene (Marian), Rosemary (Ivan) Snorek, Walter (Joan), all of Owatonna, and Duane (Kathy) of Faribault. Also by other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Paul.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rosemount (13900 Biscayne Ave. West.) Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the White Funeral Home in Apple Valley (14560 Pennock Ave.) and one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
