FARIBAULT — Patricia E. Peterson, 74, of Faribault, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault. Interment will be at the Trebon Cemetery in Shieldsville Township, Rice County. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church. The parish prayers will be held on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Patricia Eileen Novak, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Velishek) Novak, was born on March 6, 1935, and raised in Montgomery. Pat received her Cosmetology Training at Ritter’s Beauty School and worked at Wimpy’s Restaurant in Faribault while attending school. She married Ardean (Bob) Peterson on April 28, 1954, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Pat worked for many years for Frieda Lord as a Beautician and then opened her own Salon in 1972. She was a longtime member of the Daughters of Isabella and for many years was involved with many activities at church. Pat enjoyed her flower garden and time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed being with people, either visiting at her beauty shop or finding a way to help someone in need.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Peterson of Faribault; two children, Mark (Cozy) Peterson of Morristown, and Tonia (Andrew) Lillehaugen of Apple Valley; grandchildren, Angie Finnegan, Jennifer Herkenratt, Vicki Ruscin, and Christian and Sydney Lillehaugen; great grandchildren, Isaac and Hannah Finnegan, Devon Hagel, and Maya, Lucy, and Elliot Ruscin; four brothers, Walter (Kathy) Novak of Kilkenny, Minn., Clayton (Sharon) Novak of Montgomery, Minn., Calvin (Patricia) Novak of Faribault and Bob (Renee) Novak of Montgomery; two sisters, Lou (Burt) Grimm of Montgomery, Minn., and Kathy (Don) Eustice of Faribault; two sisters-in-law, Betty Novak and Janna Novak, both of Faribault; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters in infancy, Dolores and Mildred Novak; two brothers, Joseph and Milo Novak; and sister, Gloria (Delbert) Hassler.
