Ann (Frederick) Brase
1925 — 2009
WASECA — Ann (Frederick) Brase, 84, of Waseca, died on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Martin Schaefer officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at Sacred Heart Church. Arrangements are being handled by McRaith Funeral Home of Waseca.
Anna Marie was born on Aug. 13, 1925, to Joseph and Mary (Wodarczak) Gostomczik in Lexington, Minn. On Oct. 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Orlyn Frederick at Sacred Heart Church in Waseca. Orlyn and Ann raised their family and farmed in Woodville Township until Orlyn’s death in 1974. On Sept. 12, 1982, Ann married Richard Brase, and they resided in Waseca. Richard died in 1993.
She is survived by her children, Roxanne Jes of Plymouth and Steve Frederick of Waseca; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; step-daughter Skye Dauer of Eagle Lake; step-son Lane Brase of Owatonna; five step-grandchildren; sisters, Marce Williams of Madison, Wis. and Florence Gieske of Ankeny, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; brothers, Joseph Gostomczik and Leo Gostomczik; and sisters, Eleanor Sampson and Dorothy Welkele.
